The man in line to become the next president of the National Rifle Association is expected to lead the group's fight against gun control measures.

Alabama lawyer Jim Porter is expected to succeed David Keene on Monday in the two-year position of the nation's leading gun organization.  Speaking at the NRA annual convention in Houston, Porter told members that President Obama was "scheming and plotting" to take away Americans' gun rights.

The NRA is expected to lead court challenges of gun-control laws that have been enacted in several states since the Newtown, Connecticut school shootings.
