A federal judge is dealing another setback to President Donald Trump's transgender military ban. Yesterday's ruling by a U.S. District Court judge in Maryland blocked enforcement of the ban on the grounds that active-duty members are "already suffering harmful consequences." It cited postponed and canceled surgeries and the prospect of being discharged as some examples of the hardships.
A judge in DC also ruled against the ban in October, but only blocked the provisions dealing with joining or re-enlisting in the U.S. military.
