Everyone in Austin, Texas is being told "Do not drink the water" after being issued a boil order early Monday morning.
The notice from Austin Water is being issued as the utility works to stabilize the water treatment system. Austin Water is asking residents to reduce their water usage. Parents are being asked to send their kids to school with their own water.
Austinites are also asked to refrain from outdoor watering, car washing, laundry, and running dishwashers as much as possible. Bottled water is flying off the shelves in grocery stores across the state capitol today as supplies dwindle.
