Two people survive Houston crash after being cut from their vehicles

Two people had to be cut out of their cars after a violent crash in northeast Houston overnight.

It happened at midnight at Maxey Road near Wallisville Road.

Both people survived despite how badly damaged the vehicles were. It took about an hour to get one of the people freed from her car.

Firefighters also had to work to free the driver of a black pickup truck that was pinned under the passenger side.

Witnesses said it looks like the truck ran a red light and hit the car, causing it to roll over and get pinned under an 18-wheeler.

Houston police say they did not have a chance to talk to the drivers before they were taken to the hospital.
