More issues with traveling to Mexico

There are more than just security concerns about traveling to Mexico now.

Algae on beaches in Mexico are becoming a problem, especially for the beach resort hotels. There is the issue of cleaning the beaches in the morning, and the smell of the algae on top of it. Catherina Banks at Legacy Travel tells KTRH that not every traveler will let that stop them from going to Mexico this summer.

“There are beach people and there are pool people. Know thyself and know what’s important to you,” Banks explained. “If it truly is important to you to have a pristine beach, if you deal with a knowledgeable travel advisor they know which resorts have algae and which ones don’t.”

Banks says her clients have been complaining more about this lately, because many of them planned destination weddings last year for this summer, when the algae was not a concern.
