HPD looking for two men who stole offerings from church

Crime Stoppers and the Houston Police Department’s Burglary and Theft Division need the public's help identifying the suspects responsible for stealing from the church coffers.

Two suspects burglarized St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church Sunday evening, June 23, in the 3600 block of Brinkman Street in North Central Houston. During the incident, the safe containing the Sunday offering was stolen. Two men were caught on video surveillance during the burglary. The suspects ran away.

Crime Stoppers Houston's Director of Victims Services Andy Kahan said in all his years, this is pretty low.

“Sadly, just incredibly bold and brazen burglars who had the audacity to break into a church and take people’s offerings,” said Kahan. “We know someone in the public out there knows something. The public is our best eyes and ears out there, so we’re asking the people to step up to the plate, help us identify these brazen burglars and get them where they belong.”

Crime Stoppers may pay up to $5,000 for information leading to the charging and/or arrest of the suspects in this case. Information may be reported by calling 713-222-TIPS (8477), submitted online at www.crime-stoppers.org or through the Crime Stoppers mobile app. All tipsters remain anonymous.
