Chambers County Judge Issues Curfew in Aftermath of Flooding

Chambers County Update 9-20-19: 

Curfew

The Chambers County Judge has ordered a curfew from 10pm-7am for the Winnie-Stowell area, to include the East Chambers ISD school district boundaries.

Dump Sites

The Chambers County Judge’s Office has directed that the following Community Waste Sites (Box Sites) be opened 7 days a week from 8 AM – 7PM until further notice. This is intended to allow Chambers County residents to dispose of their storm related trash and debris:

             Beach City

             Eagle Point

             Wallisville

             Anahuac

The Winnie Box Site is NOT opened and will not be until further notice.

There are some restrictions:

NO Hazardous Materials.

NO gasoline, diesel fuels, kerosene, paint or oils

NO commercial or contractor’s vehicles or trailers

NO dump trailers

The Judge has also suspended the requirement for a dump permit sticker until further notice.

THIS IS FOR CHAMBERS COUNTY RESIDENTS ONLY. Please be prepared to show your Texas Driver’s License to the attendant to prove your Chambers County residency.

Road Closures – Chambers County

I-10 Eastbound from Hwy 65 (Anahuac) through Chambers/Jefferson County line

I-10 in both directions at the San Jacinto River Bridge (indefinite closure)

Hwy 65 East from Hwy 61 to Winnie-Stowell

Multiple city streets in Winnie

Hwy 124 S. of Winnie is passable only via high clearance trucks.

White’s Park Community Center – 222 White’s Park Rd #220 Wallisville, TX

McLeod Park Community Center – 10717 Langston Dr., Baytown
