UTMB Developing Possible Coronavirus Vaccine

Research is underway at the University of Texas Medical Branch to develop a vaccine for the coronavirus.

UTMB's Galveston National Laboratory worked on a vaccine for Ebola, and is now keeping an eye on the deadly outbreak in China that's starting to spread to other countries.

Ever since the CDC confirmed a case of coronavirus in Washington State earlier this week, the U.S. is the sixth country to report the arrival of the disease.

There is confirmation of a possible coronavirus case involving a Texas A&M student. Dr. Erik Wilke with the Brazos County Health Department says the student is self-isolated after coming down with mild symptoms of the virus.

Health officials are now screening travelers from central China at major U.S. airports including Bush Intercontinental in Houston.
