Ft. Bend Deputy constable dies after being accidentally shot by deputy

A Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office deputy constable from Precinct 4 has been shot and killed by another officer early this morning near Missouri City.That deputy constable has been identified as Caleb Rule.

Fort Bend County Deputy Constable Caleb Rule was accidentally shot and killed around 1:40 a.m. Friday as he and sheriff's deputies responded to a call for a property check in the Sienna Plantation area of Missouri City.

Rule, a Precinct 4 deputy, was hit in the chest as the officers searched a residence for suspected intruders. He was rushed to Memorial Hermann Hospital where he died.

Officials are calling this an accidental shooting. But the investigation continues.
