Poll: Not everyone would take a coronavirus vaccine if it were available

The hope is that we will have a COVID-19 vaccine by the end of the year. But that's not the end of the story.

Gallup's latest poll says a third of us would not take the shot, even if it were being offered for free. Former White House speech writer and health care executive Michael Johns says the White House will have to convince people to do it.

"This is going to evolve into a communications project that's of almost unprecedented importance," Johns said.

Because the vaccine would help us get herd immunity.

"Herd immunity is usually accomplished when you get at least 80% of the community vaccine. If you can't get that it ultimately does not have the communal benefit," Johns explained.

Moderna 'Phase 3' of their vaccine testing last month. Pfizer announced it was going into Phase 3 testing of their vaccine as well.
