Yesterday (5-7-2021) the Alief Independent School District sent a message, in form of a letter to parents, making student's parents aware of an app called, “Party in My Dorm.” Superintendent HD Chambers wrote that they have information telling them the app is “being used by child sex predators.” The app is targeted to teens and includes communication devices like role playing and chat. It's rated 17-plus.
The predator will want to "friend" children with the aim of hurting them and causing them harm. Crime Stoppers of Houston CEO Rania Mankarious told our TV partner Channel 2, "“Kids need to be really, really careful and mindful of where they are no matter what online platform they’re using." Mankarious says it was a good idea of the district to make parents aware of the potential danger, adding, “Their plea to parents for parents to be mindful and be watchful is true always with every platform, every day, at all times,”
