Dems Cut Funding for Border, Build Wall Around Biden Beach House

U.S. Border Patrol reports another 192,000 encounters in September, yet White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki says President Joe Biden still has no plans to travel to the southern border.

"He does not need a visit to the border to know what a mess was left by the last administration. That's his view," she told reporters when pressed on the issue Friday.

"Separating kids from their parents. Building a border wall that's feckless and cost billions of dollars for taxpayers. The president fundamentally disagrees on how we need to approach the immigration issue."

Meanwhile, the Democrats' budget bill proposes cutting funding for border security.

The appropriations bill allocates $14.5 billion to Border Patrol for fiscal year 2022, down from $15 billion this fiscal year. It's also $80 less than Biden asked for.

"And it's not just money. They have constrained the use of man power. They are severely limited in what they can do to prevent people from entering the country, what ICE can do to remove people already here," says Ira Mehlman, spokesperson for the Federation for American Immigration Reform.

"The outright lies that are coming out of the White House that walls are ineffective. It's an insult to the intelligence of the American public," he added.

Mehlman points out DHS is spending roughly $500,000 to wall off Biden's beach home in Delaware.

"If walls don't work, why are they putting one around the president's vacation home?"
