Since Facebook bought virtual reality hardware developer Oculus in 2014, the blue machine has made no attempt to hide the fact that the social media giant wants to own your virtual reality in addition to real reality. What social implications could this have within society? Can it be used for evil? Can the good outweigh the bad? Either way, Facebook will now require an active Facebook account to use its newest VR hardware...and that can be troubling.
Bottom line, if you're interested in dabbling with VR but you're uncomfortable with having Zuckerberg's fingers in your business...look elsewhere than Oculus.
