FRYER FEATURE: HOORAY FOR THE 11

You can’t really call it a triumph or even a movement, but Texas does now have 11 counties resolving to support the Constitution and your right to self-defend your life and property.

They call themselves “gun sanctuary counties.”

The most recent in Texas to pass resolutions supporting the Second Amendment are Kaufman, Palo Pinto, and Stephens. Sadly, it’s just a drop in the bucket, with 254 counties of Texas. Basically, what the sanctuary status means is that the armed public servants of the government, your local police and sheriffs, will not enforce the attempts to infringe the rights of law-abiding citizens. Not so, here in Harris County, where the newly elected Democrats to commissioners’ court have voted to support California’s move toward universal background checks. The three Democrats overrode the two Republican commissioners in the resolution. It’s not a law but it is a way for the court to use your taxpayer dollars to pay lobbyists in their political quest to control your purchase and transfer of your legally owned property; how does that solve anything?
