Former President George H.W. Bush has been laid to rest. Under overcast skies, his casket was taken to his final resting place at his presidential library in College Station. Several Navy jets performed a flyover of the ceremony, honoring his service as a naval aviator in World War Two. Former President George W. Bush walked behind the casket with his wife Laura and his brother, former Florida Governor Jeb Bush.
Earlier in the day, the oldest grandson of George H.W. Bush honored the life of his grandfather in a eulogy. Speaking at St. Martin's Episcopal Church in Houston, George P. Bush said his grandfather is the most gracious and courageous man he ever knew. He stressed that his grandfather left a "simple and profound" legacy of service, after serving the public in the Navy, in Congress and as president. Bush reminisced about how his "Gampy" would always challenge the grandchildren to achieve the "first to sleep award." George P. Bush is the son of former Florida Governor Jeb Bush.
