The Louisiana state Senate just approved a bill that would basically make bestiality illegal.
There was already a law on the books that prohibits "crimes against nature," but that bill also outlawed so-called sodomy. It was ruled unconstitutional in 2003.
The new vote passed 25 to 10... Which begs the question... Who are these 10 lawmakers that voted no?!?!
Here's a list of the Louisiana lawmakers who disapproved of making it illegal to bone a goat.
- Senator Jim Fannin
- Senator Jonathan Perry
- Senator Beth Mizell
- Senator Jack Donahue
- Senator Gerald Long
- Senator Dan Claitor
- Senator Neil Riser
- Senator Ryan Gatti
- Senator R. L. Bret Allain, II
- Senator Jonathan W. Perry
I just can't wrap my mind around this one - why would they vote no? I've sent them all emails to ask them. None of them have responded yet, but I'm dying to hear their answers (I'll update this post if any of them agree to discuss the policy with me).
The new measure specifies that previously illegal forms of "sodomy" are no longer against the law, so good news if you like to sodomize!
The bill says, "Anal sexual intercourse between two human beings shall not be deemed as a crime."
The bill will now head to the House of Representatives... And if anyone in the House votes no, a lot of people might assume they're basically admitting they're cool with people who bang donkeys. I'm not saying they are, but an awful lot of social media users seem to share that sentiment.
Even the most outspoken anti-government libertarian would probably agree it's wrong to bang a donkey. Right?
