On August 18th the Texas chapter of Antifa is planning a protest event in Austin, the capital of the Lone Star State.
According to the far-left news site Its Going Down Dot Com (IGD), the rally is being planned as a response to a right wing event called "March Against Far-Left Violence".
IGD says, "It is imperative that we send them home disappointed and demoralized."
There will be similar rallies and marches taking place around the country on the same day, including events being planned in Portland, Berkeley, Charlottesville, and Washington D.C.
The original Austin rally was scheduled for 3 PM on August 18th.
Originally the event was planned to take place at City Hall, but the specific venue location has been taken down, and Antifa says "we will meet them where ever they decide to go."
Antifa claims this event is a scheduled around the date of August 12th, the anniversary of the “Unite the Right” protest in Charlottesville last year.
