Anti-American Terrorist Takes Over Cartel Near Texas Border

A convicted terrorist who previously used grenades and a fully automatic rifle to attack the U.S. Consulate in Monterrey has taken over the Los Zetas cartel, a group headquartered near the Texas border in the Nuevo Laredo-Laredo area, according to a new report by journalist Brandon Darby.

Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, is located across the border from Laredo, Texas. Unlike San Diego, Brownsville and El Paso,, Laredo is the only urban area along the U.S.-Mexico Border that does not have fencing or a security barrier.

Convicted terrorist Hector Raul Luna Luna, known as “El Tory”, was convicted in a 2008 terror attack on the U.S. Consulate in Monterrey, Mexico.

Luna should have spent a lot more time in prison, but he was released after bribes were paid by Cartel Jalisco New Generation (CJNG). Now Luna runs the dominant faction of Los Zetas, Cartel Del Noreste (CDN), at an unsecured border corridor near Texas.

Since taking over the Los Zetas, El Tory's group has been linked to executions, dismemberments, attacks on police and military officials, and intimidation tactics.
