High School Newspaper Runs Profile on Student Porn Star

We've heard about college kids doing porn to pay their tuition, but now a high school newspaper is at the center of a free speech debate after they ran a profile on a student porn star.

Last week a public high school in California (of course) ran a story on an 18-yr-old student who makes pornography for a living.

The Bruin Voice published the story last week after the teacher who supervises the school newspaper program accused the district of trying to censor her student.

The profile tells the story of Caitlyn Fink, a student who started making porn to help support her after moving out of her mother's home.

Fink sells nude photos online and participates in pornographic scenes. She's also a verified member on PornHub, a popular adult website.

According to the PA, The Lodi Unified School District (LUSD) requested to review the article before it was published but the paper's teacher adviser, Kathi Duffel, accused school officials of censorship.

LUSD Superintendent Cathy Nichols-Washer said Duffel the teacher could be disciplined if she denied the review in an April 11th letter.

Duffel’s attorney said the article did not violate education codes so she published the story.

The teacher said the article doesn't glamorize the porn industry.

In the article the student porn star is quoted as saying, "I’m 18, what I’m doing is legal, and I don’t see why everyone is making such a big deal out of it."

She also said, "People think sex work isn’t work but it is work, you’re just taking off your clothes."

The student who published the story, Bailey Kirkeby, said she was "very proud" of her work, when interviewed by the San Francisco Chronicle.

The student also has a social media account setup that she's used to seek out a "sugar daddy".

Time they are a changin', folks.
