Red Hat Bad: Twitter Bans Account That Tracks Violence Against Republicans

During a recent purge of conservatives from social media platforms, one censored account has people scratching their heads in confusion.

The Twitter account known as "@MAGAphobia", which tracks news stories involving violence against Republicans, conservatives and Trump supporters, was taken down earlier this week.

The account, which was maintained by One America News Network host Jack Posobiec, was removed from Twitter on May 6th with no explanation given for why the account was taken down.

Posobiec said the account was used to document violent incidents involving people with, "irrational, unfounded fear of Donald Trump or his supporters."

Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey has recently said the company uses a software algorithm to determine which accounts qualify as hate speech.

Censorship of right-leaning thought leaders on social media has been a growing problem leading many to wonder if a government solution is the answer.
