No Surprise: Campaign Website for Dwight Boykins Surfaces Online

We all probably saw this coming.

A campaign website promoting Democrat Houston city councilman Dwight Boykins' hypothetical mayoral campaign has surfaced online.

While Boykins hasn't yet made any announcement about running for mayor, the URL appears to have been created on May 28th, 2019, according to a search on WHOIS. It's unclear if the site was created by Boykins or an outside political group.

Many have speculated Boykins would challenge Mayor Sylvester Turner after months of contentious back-and-forth between the two politicians over the controversial Prop B vote from last November.

We reached out to Boykins' office for comment but have not yet received a response.

Boykins represents District D in Houston.

Since passing Prop B Boykins has proposed a new tax on garbage to help pay for the firefighter's salaries.
