Yesterday the same Texas politician who freed a dangerous criminal from jail (and that dangerous criminal later on violently attacked a grandma) told people they'll kill their own grandmas if they return to work.
Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo will forever be known as the progressive elected official who helped free a violent criminal earlier this year (for $50) before the man was later accused of violently attacking an elderly woman. Of course we all know she freed other violent criminals (thousands, to be more accurate) - but one specific criminal is being mentioned in conversation now that Lina is shaming people for endangering their grandmas by returning to work.
Does it sound like Lina Hidalgo has a guilty conscience?
On April 16th a man who was recently released from Harris County jail for $50 was arrested again after he allegedly beat his ex-girlfriend and threw her grandmother to the ground two weeks after he was released from jail on a low bond after being arrested for another violent crime, according to Harris County records.
District Judge Chris Morton upheld the bond but he was guided by Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo's recent proclamation that the jails must be emptied to prevent the spread of COVID 19. The Harris County District Attorney's Office was trying to appeal when Singleton allegedly committed the next violent crime.
Fast forward to April 27th, 2020 when Lina told people at a press conference, "It's not about you, it's about the people around you. You might get somebody sick, you might kill your grandma."
She was responding to news that Texas Governor Greg Abbott is going to end the lockdown on Friday.
Lecture us all you want, Lina, but you're the reason why grandmas are in danger. The evidence speaks for itself.
