Jussie Smollett Claims George Floyd Protests & Riots Prove He's Innocent

Remember when actor Jussie Smollett claimed he was attacked in downtown Chicago by two white Neo-Nazis wearing MAGA hats who later on turned out to be Nigerian body builders?

Jussie is still involved in a legal battle with Chicago after the city claimed he lied about being attacked & demanded he payback the local government for the time they wasted investigating his false report.

Now Jussie's lawyer is suggesting the death of George Floyd and the protests and violent riots that followed are somehow proof that he's innocent.

He's also claiming the former Superintendent of the Chicago Police Department was fired because of Jussie (he wasn't, he was fired because he fell asleep in his car while on duty).

James Barrett reports:

In a new legal filing, former “Empire” star Jussie Smollett’s attorneys attempted to connect his ongoing legal battle with the City of Chicago to the protests sweeping the nation after the death of George Floyd.
In the filing, first reported by TMZ and since published online, Smollett’s lawyers try to use the protests against police, which have increasingly taken the form of the radical “Defund The Police” movement, to the embattled actor’s advantage. The city is suing Smollett for $130,000 for resources officials say were wasted on investigating Smollett’s claim that he was the victim of a violent attack by two white racists and homophobes, which investigators determined was allegedly a hate crime hoax “coordinated” by Smollett himself.
