Congratulations to Fort Bend County Sheriff Troy Nehls for proving policy positions and principles are more important than money in a Congressional campaign.
Nehls took an early lead on Tuesday in the Congressional District 22 GOP primary runoff election against challenger Kathaleen Wall.
Nehls will face off against Democrat Sri Preston Kulkarni in November.
The race has been contentious, to say the least. Wall spent millions of dollars producing negative and misleading attack ads against Nehls over the last month. No Texan running for U.S. House has ever spent more than Kathaleen Wall in a campaign: she invested $7.8 million of her own money & her spending resulted in around the clock TV and radio ads. She spent a fortune, but it didn't matter.
Nehls said his campaign "overcame" bad publicity despite attack ads "being pelted against me each and every day.”
In 2018 Kathy Wall also spent a fortune trying to prevent Rep Dan Crenshaw from becoming a Congressmen.
