Dictionary.com announced their Word of the Year is "misinformation."
Their definition: "False information that is spread, regardless of whether there is intent to mislead."
They say it's been around for a long time, obviously, but social media has changed how information is shared and absorbed, not always for the best.
This is their third Word of the Year announcement. Collins Dictionary went with "single-use," and Oxford went with "toxic."
