A Louisiana man was accused of killing his parents, his girlfriend, and two others has confessed to the crimes.
Livingston Parish Sheriff Jason Ard and Ascension Parish Sheriff Bobby Webre held a press conference yesterday afternoon to discuss the case of Dakota Theriot, a man who confessed to the murders of almost a half a dozen people.
Theriot was arrested in Warsaw, Virginia on Sunday, Jan. 27. He will be held there until Friday.
According to authorities, Theriot confessed that the handgun used in the shooting spree belonged to his father.
Sheriff Webre said, "We know what happened here. He killed five people. This is a monster."
Theriot will be sent to Ascension Parish where he will be booked on two counts of first degree murder, home invasion, and illegal use of weapons. Afterwards he'll be transferred to the Livingston Parish jail to be booked on three counts of first degree murder and theft of a motor vehicle.
It's hard to believe we live among people who behave this way.
