Galveston Texas Police Apologize for Doing Their Jobs Correctly

A photo recently went viral online that depicts Galveston Texas horse-mounted police doing their jobs correctly.

In the photo the police officers are using a loose rope to keep a handcuffed man (who also happens to be a repeat offender) detained in an effort to keep him from running away.

The police officers were following standard operating procedure but apparently this was too much for some people to handle, so the outrage division of society demanded an apology.... and they got it!

Angry people on social media have demanded the police not do their jobs correctly because it makes the Left feel better.

The Houston Chronicle reports:

Police issued a press release about the photo on Monday, confirming that horse-mounted officers had "clipped" a "line" to a man's handcuffs after he was arrested Saturday on a criminal trespassing charge.
Galveston Police Chief Vernon Hale also issued a statement Monday in the press release. He apologized to the man, Donald Neely, 43, who had been arrested on a misdemeanor criminal trespassing charge.
"First and foremost I must apologize to Mister Neely for this unnecessary embarrassment," he said in the statement. "Although this is a trained technique and best practice in some scenarios, I believe our officers showed poor judgement in this instance and could have waited for a transport unit at the location of the arrest."

This is insane - the police are doing their jobs and they've been branded as bad guys because someone doesn't like how the photo looks on social media.
