A woman was caught on video yesterday driving over headstones at Houston National Cemetery, also known as Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
According to ABC 13, families were gathered on Mother's Day both to visit the graves of loved ones and to watch the Lone Star Flight Museum flyover, commemorating the 75th anniversary of VE Day. Witnesses say a woman driving a red Dodge minivan seemed in a hurry to get out after the flyover ended. There were cars blocking her, so she ended up jumping the curb and driving in the grass where the graves are. Onlookers were yelling at her to stop, capturing cell phone video and photos, but she kept going. Some stood in front of the vehicle to keep her from running over the graves of their loved ones. One witness is quoted as saying that she had driven over dozens of graves by the time it was all done.
The woman behind the wheel has not yet been identified.
