George Floyd And Chauvin Bumped Heads As Co-Workers, Says Former Colleague

According to the Washington Examiner, George Floyd and the now-fired Minneapolis police officer charged with his murder did not get along when they worked together at a Minneapolis nightclub.

Floyd and Derek Chauvin used to work at El Nuevo Rodeo. A former colleague of both men, David Pinney, told CBS Evening News that the two "bumped heads" while on the job, largely over Chauvin being "extremely aggressive" with some of the club's patrons. He also said that Chauvin knew Floyd "pretty well." The owner of El Nuevo Rodeo, Maya Santamaria, was interviewed for an upcoming CBS special and claims that Chauvin was afraid of and intimidated by black people.

Chauvin is currently charged with second-degree murder and third-degree manslaughter. The Floyd family's attorney is now calling for the charges to be upped to first-degree murder on the grounds that Chauvin knew who George Floyd was.
