As workers removed a statue of Civil War leader Jefferson Davis from the Kentucky state capitol on Saturday they found an unexpected artifacts hidden inside.

A local report suggested the bottle may have contained a piece of paper but others claim the bottle was empty.
On Friday Kentucky’s Historic Properties Advisory Commission voted overwhelmingly to remove the statue.
Davis was once a US Senator and he died in 1889. He was also President of the Confederate states. He was also indicted for treason but he was not tried.
