Elon Musk is Creating a New Town: Our Theory About Where It Might Be

The world's richest man, Elon Musk, just announced he's planning on building his own town in the great state of Texas, according to the Daily Caller.

Elon Musk revealed he plans to create a new city in the state of Texas and is already floating a name for the project.
The city will be called Starbase, according to a tweet shared by Musk on Tuesday.
“Creating the city of Starbase, Texas,” he tweeted. “From thence to Mars, And hence the Stars.”
It’s unclear where the city will be, but it will be “an area much larger than Boca Chica,” Musk said. Boca Chica is the city Texas’ SpaceX launch pad is located in.

Nobody knows where in Texas Elon Musk plans to build his new town, but we think we might know.

There's a ghost town in Central Texas, not far from Elon's home in Austin, that was listed for sale a few years back.

Bankersmith, a tiny Texas town near Fredericksburg, may be having an identity crisis.
First it was known as Bankersmith. Then it was Bikinis. And now it's Bankersmith again and it's up for sale.
The town, which returned to its original name in June 2015, is up for grabs for the low price of $1.5 million, according to the property listing obtained by mySA.com.
With the purchase of the town nestled between Luckenbach and Fredericksburg, the new owner will receive a 5,500 square-foot dance hall and a 2,464 square-foot saloon.
In 2012, Doug Guller, owner of the Austin-based Bikinis Sports Bars & Grills chain, purchased the 1.6-acre town as a tourist attraction for his "breastaurant," naming the town after the chain he founded, "Bikinis."
Three years later, Guller reverted the name back to Bankersmith in an attempt to mend fences with neighbors in Fredericksburg, news archives show.
"We want a long-term relationship with Fredericksburg," Guller told the Austin American-Statesman at the time. "After working with the community for over two years, we feel changing the name was necessary and want to take it back to its grassroots."
Now, the town is back on the market.
