Earlier this year Calgary Pastor Artur Pawlowski made headlines after releasing video that showed him kicking police and health officials off of church property after they tried to shut down service.
Now he's back in the news after being arrested for encouraging people to attend church.
"Both have been charged with organizing an illegal in-person gathering, in addition to “requesting, inciting or inviting others” to join them, said the Calgary Police Service in a statement.
“It is important to understand that law enforcement recognizes people’s desire to participate in faith-based gatherings as well as the right to protest. However, as we find ourselves in the midst of a global pandemic, we all must comply with public health orders in order to ensure everyone’s safety and wellbeing,” the police service said.”
In an interview from jail with Rebel News, Pastor Pawlowski says:
"the more people will see what's going on, the more people will rise up and we'll have more condemnation. We need to clean our political system. We need to clean the corruption. We have to make those people uncomfortable again."
