This ends exactly how you think it's gonna end (but you should still watch the video, trust us).
...the suspect, 27-year-old Marvon Payton Jr., was at the gun range trying to steal a gun from another person’s bag. The caller told dispatch that the employees would stand outside with Payton and wait for the police.
However, before officers could arrive, emergency dispatched received another call from the employees stating that Payton was becoming aggressive and had threatened the employees.
Officer Andrew Nguyn has been identified as the officer who shot and killed the suspect. He is 34-years-old and has been with the LVMPD since 2016.
Officer Nguyn and his partner arrived at the scene around 12:47 p.m. They instructed Payton to stand in front of their patrol car, but Payton started to walk away. Officers tried to stop him and Payton allegedly pulled a screwdriver out and begin to try to attack the officers.
Metro Police said Payton was trying to stab the officers head and neck area. Officer Nguyn’s partner was stabbed. As she fell to the ground, he and the employees of the business pulled out their gun and shot at Payton. Payton fell to the ground after being struck.
