Euphoria actress Sydney Sweeney has been trending on social media since Saturday afternoon. She posted some photos and video on Instagram from her mom's surprise 60th birthday party and said:
no better way to celebrate my momma than a surprise hoedown🤠
Internet detectives went to work and found photos from other family members and party guests where it was clear that many on hand for the celebration were wearing red "Make Sixty Great Again" hats. They also spotted what appears to be her dad in a Blue Lives Matter shirt. These elements, plus the western theme of the event were enough for Twitter users to declare that Sweeney and her family are evil MAGA conservatives, and for fans to start turning against her in a big way.

Sweeney got a tweet out to ask people to stop with all this and to let people know that nothing about the birthday party was intended to be a political statement. As you can see below, it didn't do much. The memes and angry social posts just kept coming and we can only assume the conversation around the actress and her mom's birthday party will continue into this week, if not for the rest of her career. She stands accused of the horrible sin of having politically conservative family members...or even, God forbid, having conservative political beliefs herself.
