An elderly man was violently assaulted inside a supermarket in New Jersey because he had the audacity to wear a “Make America Great Again” in public, according to prosecutors.
The 81-year-old Franklin Township man was at Shop Rite on Monday afternoon when he was viciously attacked by a stranger because of his red cap, said Somerset County Prosecutor Michael Robertson.
The man declined medical attention.
