Teacher With Breast Cancer Forced to Pay For Her Own Substitute

If you've ever wondered what sort of long term effects progressive policy positions will have on an American state, take a good long look at California.

A public school teacher in San Francisco has recently taken medical leave while battling breast cancer.

In addition to her medical bills, she will also be forced to pay for a substitute teacher to cover for her at Glen Park Elementary School.

A 1976 California law says if any public school teacher misses more than 10 days, the cost to fund a substitute teacher will be deducted from the teacher’s salary.

That comes to about $203.16 a day.

The Glen Park teacher has asked to remain anonymous. However, parents at the school are speaking out agains the unfair policy.

A GoFundMe for the teacher stopped collecting donations after receiving $13,000.
