Hollywood Celebs Have 300 Times the Carbon Footprint of Average Americans

The Grammy Awards have come and gone and now Hollywood elites are getting ready for another self-back-patting ceremony as they prepare for the Oscars.

At a recent Oscar themed luncheon where Hollywood celebs and executives gathered together to make plans for the big night, a "plant based" meal was served to help encourage Americans to be more enviro-friendly to our planet.

But are Hollywood celebs as concerned about Mother Earth as they claim?

Alana Mastrangelo reports:

The Academy went on to insist that “for the past seven years, the Oscars show has had a net zero carbon imprint” — despite a recent study, which revealed that Hollywood celebrities, like the ones at Monday’s luncheon, and business leaders have carbon footprints up to 300 times bigger than the everyday Americans.
“We continue to expand our sustainability plan with the ultimate goal of becoming carbon neutral,” the Academy insisted.
The Golden Globes, Critics Choice, Screen Actors Guild Awards and WME have reportedly chosen to go vegan, prompting the Academy to follow suite.

Yeah, eating kale chips is great, but what about all those private jets, Olympic sized swimming pools, and Malibu mansions with 17 bedrooms? Something tells me Hollywood isn't quite as concerned about their carbon footprints as they'd like us to believe.
