Mississippi Churchgoers Fined $500 For Sitting In Cars At Radio Service

A $500 fine for sitting in your own vehicle in a church parking lot, with the windows rolled up. According to The Blaze, that's what members of Temple Baptist Church in Greenville, Mississippi got earlier this week.

Temple Baptist members were staying in their vehicles with the windows rolled up to listen to Pastor Arthur Scott's sermon on the radio when police officers arrived, asked the churchgoers to leave, and then began writing tickets to anyone who refused. One man told the Delta-Democrat-Times that he and his wife each received a $500 ticket. Another member recorded the video below of police issuing tickets.

Greenville Mayor Errick Simmons issued an executive order earlier in the week that all church buildings are to be closed for both in-person and drive-in services.
