Last year Houston made national headlines after a convicted sex offender was discovered to be participating in "Drag Queen Story Hour."
It wasn't even the first time Houston had a "we accidentally hired a sex offender to read books to children in a public setting" scandal.
Considering their track record you'd think Houston wouldn't be so eager to keep scheduling these controversial events at publicly funded family-friendly venues around the city, but you'd be wrong.
Discovery Green will be hosting a drag queen story hour event on July 24th at 10:30am with Muffy Vanderbilt III, a local drag queen whose personal Instagram account features pictures of the perform wearing lingerie and being featured in burlesque style performances.
Hopefully they remember to background check the performer this time.
