Remember two years ago when Lina Hidalgo bragged about passing bond reform?
Well apparently now she doesn't like the new system and she says it's the bondsmen's fault.
On Twitter the authoritarian elected official posted a poorly written opinion piece from the Houston Chronicle that places blame on people in the bail bond industry for following the rules that she helped create.
Yes, really.
According to Crime Stoppers, a Houston non-profit group that tracks violent crime in Southeast Texas, there have been hundreds of murders in Houston directly connected to recently released violent criminals who received low bail costs or no bail costs since the policy was passed in 2019.
Bond reform was one of Hidalgo's primary policies that she campaigned on before she was elected.
