According to statements she made to police and the victim, this teaching assistant who is accused of having sex with a student on four occasions, may have been trying to use sex to turn him straight. Now former teaching assistant in Houston, Tedria Fluellen, 51, met the victim while working at Worthing High School. The victim said that they both attended the same church as well.

Court documents state that the victim was 16 in 2018 when the sexual abuse started. Fluellen allegedly told the victim: “You don’t have to be gay,” and then proceeded to sexually abuse him.

The boy’s grandmother found sexually explicit images on his phone and reported Tedria Fluellen to police. Fluellen admitted to police that she had oral sex with the boy and told them that his life was “not the lifestyle” for him. She also said another student was trying to “turn him out”, which is slang for having sex with another man.
