Have you ever heard of cloud gaming?

Cloud gaming is a way to play video games by using remote servers. There’s no need to download and install games on a PC or console.

How does it work?

"By using cloud-based technology, gamers will be able to access their favorite games from any device, anytime, anywhere. It potentially opens up a whole new world of online games and experiences,” explains Arise Gaming Chief CX Innovation Officer Jonathan Shroyer in his new book, Gaming Services Volume 1. "Cloud gaming also delivers a faster, smoother experience with enhanced graphics and sound, making for an even more immersive experience. Some examples of this are Xbox Cloud Gaming, GeForce Now, and PlayStation Now."

So why is cloud gaming important?

“Cloud gaming is important and revolutionary because it makes gaming more accessible to a wider audience, as it eliminates the need for expensive hardware and enables users to play games on a variety of devices, including laptops, smartphones, and tablets. It opens up the door for more players to play and is a more accessible and inclusive way to play video games in 2023. We will likely see this trend continue to grow and develop into the future, paving the way to a new generation of gaming,” Shroyer states.

The Gaming Services Volume 1 is a collection of chapters that cover the latest trends and developments in the gaming industry.

Jonathan Shroyer is the Chief CX Innovation Officer at Arise Virtual Solutions and Arise Gaming. Shroyer has two decades of experience building companies and leaders up. CIO Journal, a publication of The Wall Street Journal, named Shroyer among its “Top CX Professionals of 2022.
