El Paso City Council is purchasing a vacant school to use as a temporary shelter for migrants.
The city is paying the El Paso Independent School District is paying $3.8 million dollars for the former Morehead Middle School, which had been valued at nearly $8 million in February.
The city strategic communications director said there is no estimated start time.
A timeline of the sale includes a 90-day inspection period.
