Rep. Lauren Boebert was reportedly involved in a physical altercation with her ex-husband, Jayson Boebert, at a Colorado restaurant on Saturday (January 6) night.
Silt Police Department Chief Mike Kite confirmed that officers were called to Miner's Claim because of a disturbance caused by Boebert and her husband. He refused to provide any details about what happened.
Jayson told the Denver Post that he contacted the police department on Sunday and said he did not wish to press charges against his former wife.
"I don't want nothing to happen," Jayson Boebert told the paper. "Her and I were working through a difficult conversation."
Lauren Boebert's campaign manager issued a statement to the Post denying earlier reports that she punched her ex-husband in the face during the altercation.
"This is a sad situation for all that keeps escalating and another reason I'm moving. I didn't punch Jayson in the face, and no one was arrested."
Chief Kite said that the investigators are still collecting facts in the case, and the department will release a report on the incident once it has been completed.
