Hidalgo Confirms HSLR Revokes Ex-Officio Director Status

Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo confirms the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo has revoked her Ex-Officio Director status on a post on Twitter.

The feud between officials with HLSR and Hidalgo claims she was "manhandled" by security escorting her out of the rodeo, continues to build as Hidalgo goes to social media accusing HSLR staff of being racist towards her and claims she was "manhandled" as she allegedly demanded she and her guests could have access to the Chute seats that cost $425 a ticket and she reportedly was abusing her leadership privileges according to Rodeo authorities.

Thursday- Rodeo Houston responded to Hidalgo's allegations she was "manhandled", with a letter from Chairwoman Pat Phillips and President & CEO, Chris Boleman, stating they were disappointed in the actions of Hidalgo as she refused to adhere to the rules everyone is asked to follow given the frequency she had attended demanding access to the Chute seats.

Wednesday- A tense moment at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo turned into a public dispute involving outgoing Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo. Hidalgo says she was yelled at and shoved by several men Tuesday night when she tried to access the dirt floor during a sold-out concert at NRG Stadium. She says she and several guests attempted to reach the floor area but were stopped by security. Hidalgo says surveillance video from the stadium should back up her version of events.

Rodeo officials tell a different story. They say Hidalgo and her guests didn’t have the required chute seat tickets, which are the $425 passes needed to enter the dirt area near the stage. Officials say she was asked to return to the county suite instead. They also note Hidalgo’s group had previously been given nearly $9,000 worth of floor-access tickets on earlier nights. Hidalgo says she intends to obtain video from the stadium as the dispute continues.
