Houston’s first-ever Fleet Week is here

Houston’s first-ever Fleet Week is now underway, bringing Navy ships, service members, and public events to the region for the next several days.

The weeklong event runs through April 22, with activities taking place at the Port of Houston and across the city. Organizers say one of the biggest draws will be public ship tours, which are free and offered on a first-come, first-served basis.

Visitors should be prepared for security screenings and must bring a valid government-issued photo ID if they plan to board a vessel. Officials also recommend arriving early, as tours are limited by each ship’s capacity.

Beyond the ships, Fleet Week includes festivals, concerts, and community events designed to connect the public with service members. Leaders say the goal is to showcase the military while giving Houstonians a rare, up-close look at life at sea.
