The National Hurricane Center is monitoring an area in the Gulf of America with a 50% chance of development.
On Facebook, Jeff Lindner with the Harris County Flood District wrote that there is “Lots of uncertainty on how this tracks along the coast…but main concerns remain heavy rainfall and flooding.”
Also on Facebook, Galveston County Judge Mark Henry wrote, “A disturbance could move along the Texas Coast Tuesday into Wednesday, bringing widespread rainfall totals of 4 to 7 inches, with isolated areas potentially receiving even higher amounts. There is also a possibility that this system could briefly develop into a tropical depression before moving inland. While any tropical development is expected to be limited, the primary concern will be the potential for heavy rainfall and flooding.”
