Most “non-citizens,” including those with legal green card, are living welfare programs created to help poor families survive, according to a a Census Bureau finding
.The report states that in 2014, 3% of non-citizens use welfare programs and that number increases to 70% for immigrant families here 10 years or longer.
This reaffirms the theory that those who get on welfare rarely ever get off.
Trump plans to cut non-citizens off welfare if they seek to acquire a green card that allows them to legally work in the US.
The report said there are over 4.6 million non-citizen households receiving welfare and the vast majority of those households have at least one employed working living in the residence.
