"Gun Neutral" Production of 'Oklahoma' Heads to Broadway

Stupidity is contagious.

Every morning I wake up at 4am and I read the news.  I read every headline, story, study and poll result that looks like something my relevant to our listeners.  As a 21st century news consumer, I stumble across a lot of wacky stories; some I can't believe and others that are so obvious I wonder why they even got published. Once in a while I stumble across a story that's so stupid, so absurdly ridicolous, that I assume I'm reading The Onion.

And that's exactly what I thought when I read the following headline:

'Oklahoma!' Production To Be Broadway's First 'Gun Neutral' Production

An upcoming production of the classic musical "Oklahoma!" will be Broadway's first attempt to bend the knee to Hollywood's Gun Neutral Initiative.

Apparently the gun neutral initiative is Hollywood's attempt to limit the number of guns you'll see during a performance.  For every gun seen on stage during the show, a donation will be made to far Left organizations committed to supporting gun control regulations.

Besides donating to anti-gun groups, the people involved in the production will also be limiting the amount of guns scene on stage to a bare minimum.

Like a lot of you, I'm confused at the logic of this endeavor. Does anyone actually think Broadway musical enthusiasts are more likely to shoot someone because they saw fake plastic prop guns on stage during a performance of Oklahoma, Chicago, Guys & Dolls or Annie Get Your Gun?  Maybe they should the name of the later to "Annie Get Your Gender Neutral Non-Binary Anti-Phallic Defense Mechanism".

I'd rather watch Die Hard.
