Yesterday the staff at CNN had a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day.
For the past two years Leftists news outlets (a category that CNN definitely falls into) have frothed at the mouth over every single update on the Mueller investigation.
Second only to cleavage shots of Stormy Daniels, the Russian collusion theory has been CNN's bread and butter for the past year or two. Any mention of anything related to someone on Team Trump talking to a person of Slavic descent has been the journalism equivalent of Viagra for the folks at CNN.
But y esterday CNN got a phone call from Captain Buzzkill when they received news from multiple sources that Donald Trump Jr.'s mysterious phone calls ahead of the 2016 Trump Tower meeting were not with his father.
This was supposed to be their smoking gun. If Don Jr was calling papa to exchange information about getting Russian hackers or foreign agents (or evil boogie men) to infiltrate the DNC computer system and steal valuable data, that would have validated all their horrible bias journalism from the past two-three years.
Unfortunately, that fantasy never came to fruition.
The Senate Intelligence Committee has received records that demonstrate how the calls were between Trump Jr. and two of his business associates and appear to contradict the Democrats' long-held suspicions that the blocked number was from Don Jr's papa.
You know it must have hurt the CNN news room's egos to publish this information, but there it is on their website, for the whole world to witness.
The recently obtained information answers a key question about the meeting Trump's eldest son set up with a Russian attorney who actually wanted to discuss adoption laws, not Wikileaks.
The fact that Trump Jr.'s phone calls involved blocked numbers have been a source of controversy for months, but there are an almost endless number of reasons why Don Jr or his associates would block his number:
- Privacy
- Security
- Convenience
- Habit?
While the investigation isn't over yet, this is a good sign that things with Robert Mueller are winding down and there's still one thing the Left (Dems, CNN, Hollywood and Academia) haven't been able to acquire from the Special Counselor's work: proof of collusion between then-candidate Donald Trump and the Russian Federation.
Unfortunately we could only find proof that Obama sold uranium to Russia, Hillary signed off on it and Bernie traveled to the Soviet Union where he got drunk in his underwear and sang "This Land is Our Land."
Once again this proves a point I've mad a thousand times before...
